Stainless Steel UNS S31603 Round Bars and Rods consist mainly of iron with 16–18% chromium, 10–14% nickel, and 2–3% molybdenum for increased corrosion resistance, especially in conditions rich in chlorides. The “L“ grade indicates a low carbon content of ≤0.03%, minimizing carbide precipitation and weldability. Other constituents are manganese (≤2%), silicon (≤1%), and phosphorus and sulfur (each ≤0.045%). Mechanical properties are 485 MPa tensile strength, yield strength of 170 MPa, and elongation of 40–50% on 50mm. This set provides high ductility, strength, and excellent pitting and crevice corrosion resistance, suited for harsh industrial purposes.
