C17500 contains about 0.4–0.7% beryllium, 1.4–2.0% cobalt, and the rest copper. It provides tensile strength of 600–1000 MPa and electrical conductivity of 45–60% IACS. The alloy has good fatigue strength, high hardness, and fair machinability. Thermal stability of the alloy makes it best suited for applications at elevated temperature. Although not as strong as C17200, it has superior conductivity and stress relaxation resistance and hence long service life under thermal cycling.
