EN-24 (V130) has around 0.36–0.44% carbon, 0.5–0.8% manganese, 1.3–1.7% nickel, 0.9–1.4% chromium, and 0.2–0.4% molybdenum. It provides tensile strength up to 850–1000 MPa and exceptional fatigue and impact toughness. It attains a hardness of up to 300–350 BHN after heat treatment. EN-24 is easily machinable and retains toughness in sections of large thickness. It can be nitrided and surface treated for added wear resistance. This steel provides an excellent combination of strength, ductility, and toughness in high-performance conditions.
