Aiman Metals is a prominent supplier of Carbon Steel EN-353 Bars in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. EN-353 is a case-hardening steel with superior core strength and outstanding surface hardness after carburizing. It‘s the best choice for parts that need a hard core and wear-resistant surface. Aiman Metals supplies EN-353 bars in normalized, annealed, or heat-treated conditions to suit diverse industrial applications. Our EN-353 bars find extensive applications in the automobile, machinery, and gear industry. With close machining tolerances and high material uniformity, we provide consistent performance for even the most critical engineering applications.
EN-353 contains about 0.15–0.20% carbon, 0.60–1.0% manganese, 0.35–0.75% nickel, and 0.85–1.25% chromium. It develops a case hardness of 58–62 HRC through carburizing, while the core has high toughness. Tensile strength is as high as 1000 MPa based on treatment. It has good wear resistance, good core strength, and reasonable machinability. It can be used for case hardening, carburizing, and flame hardening operations. The alloy provides better surface hardness without loss of ductility and impact strength in the core.

Common finishes for Carbon Steel EN-353 Bar include hot rolled, cold drawn, polished, bright, and ground. These finishes provide varying levels of smoothness, texture, and corrosion resistance for different applications.
Yes, Carbon Steel EN-353 Bar can be heat-treated. It is commonly heat-treated through processes like carburizing and quenching to improve its hardness, strength, and wear resistance.
Carbon Steel EN-353 Bar is commonly used for manufacturing high-strength components like gears, shafts, and axles, often in automotive, industrial machinery, and engineering applications requiring high tensile strength and wear resistance.
Carbon Steel EN-353 Bars are extensively applied in gear-making, automotive transmission components, pinions, shafts, cams, and crankshafts. It‘s also applied in industrial rollers, sprockets, bushings, and coupling pieces which undergo surface wear. The resistant interior combined with a hard exterior makes EN-353 perfect for the parts that are exposed to dynamic stress as well as friction. In farm equipment and mining machinery, EN-353 is suitable for high-wear, high-load applications. It is also applied in gearboxes, differential parts, and forged mechanical components demanding a long-lasting, strong structure with superior fatigue strength.
