Carbon Steel EN‑8 is a medium-carbon steel with around 0.35–0.45 % carbon, 0.50–0.80 % manganese, and minute quantities of silicon and sulfur. The composition is a balance of strength and ductility and therefore appropriate for components subjected to medium‑stress. The typical mechanical properties are tensile strength approximately 580–760 MPa, yield strength of about 375 MPa, and elongation of 12–18 %. EN‑8 bars can be through‑hardened for enhanced wear resistance and toughness. Machinability of steel is outstanding in the annealed and normalized condition, and weldability is moderate—best applied for fusion welding with pre‑and post‑heating as required.

They offer high tensile strength, wear resistance, and excellent machinability, making them suitable for demanding applications.
They are widely used in automotive, engineering, and heavy machinery industries for components like gears, shafts, and bolts.
Yes, we provide EN-8 Bars and Rods in various sizes and specifications to meet specific project requirements.
Carbon Steel EN-8 bars are extensively employed in engineering use requiring reliable strength and moderate machinability. Typical applications involve shafts, studs, machine parts, fasteners, and crankshafts, particularly where hardenability and tempering improve performance. They are appropriate for automotive components, farm equipment, general engineering parts, and fabrication operations needing cost-effective medium-strength steel. In manufacturing, EN‑8 bars find use as raw material for turning, milling, and forging processes. Due to their balanced properties, they are suitable for uses where toughness, dimensional accuracy, and economic considerations are of equal importance.

We provide products that come with both mill test certificates and third-party test certificates, ensuring the highest standards of quality and compliance.
