What is Carbon Steel EN-9 Series Bars ?

EN-9 steel generally has 0.50–0.60% carbon content and 0.60–0.80% manganese, with trace elements of silicon, phosphorus, and sulfur. It provides tensile strength of 550–700 MPa and Brinell Hardness of about 200–250 HB in as-received condition. Under optimum heat treatment (e.g., hardening and tempering), EN-9 reaches hardness values greater than 55 HRC. It possesses reasonable machinability, moderate weldability (preheating advised), and superior wear resistance.
