Copper C10920 bars and rods are heat-treatable high-strength copper alloys having minor additions of chromium and zirconium. These components greatly enhance the hardness and strength of the alloy without substantially affecting its superior electrical and thermal conductivity. Resistant to softening at high temperatures, C10920 bars are perfectly suited for applications with high-current loads, mechanical stress, and heat exposure. They are manufactured to strict tolerances and are extremely durable, rendering them useful in electrical and automotive applications where reliable mechanical and conductive performance is required.
C10920 copper alloy has an approximate composition of 98.8% copper, 0.5–1.2% chromium, and 0.03–0.3% zirconium. It has tensile strengths of 400–550 MPa after aging heat treatment, with excellent hardness and ductility. Electrical conductivity is 75% to 85% IACS, retaining great thermal properties. The alloy is resistant to softening and retains mechanical strength up to 500°C. It is easily forged, extruded, and machined. It has excellent wear resistance and dimensional stability under load, making C10920 appropriate for high-performance, high-temperature applications.
