Bars and rods of Copper C12000 are deoxidized high-residual phosphorus copper products with good strength, moderate conductivity, and superior corrosion resistance. These bars are intended for soldered, brazed, or welded joints and are widely applied in fluid handling systems. C12000 possesses a homogeneous microstructure and greater mechanical stability, especially when subject to thermal cycling. The residual phosphorus content enhances weldability without detracting from ductility. They are cost-effective and have high durability, thus are commonly applied in refrigeration, plumbing, and heat exchanger fields. They are easy to fabricate, form, and install in complex piping and mechanical systems.
Copper C12000 has about 99.9% copper and levels of residual phosphorus usually higher than 0.02%. Electrical conductivity is around 85–90% IACS, tensile strength ranging from 220 to 370 MPa based on temper. The alloy shows a very high resistance to corrosion, pitting, and scaling. Phosphorus deoxidizes the copper and reduces embrittlement during joining processes. It has good hot and cold workability and retains structural integrity when used over long periods in high-moisture or chemically active exposures.
