Our Duplex Steel Rectangular Bars are made from duplex stainless steel with a microstructure consisting of a two-phase mixture of roughly equal austenite and ferrite. Grades such as Duplex 2205 are usually composed of 22% chromium, 5–6% nickel, 3% molybdenum, and nitrogen to help improve performance. The composition has twice the yield strength of austenitic stainless steels, high toughness, and better resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion, and chloride-induced stress corrosion cracking. They also have good weldability and dimensional stability and can be fabricated. These combined mechanical and resistance-to-corrosion properties provide reliable service in extremely aggressive and corrosive conditions.
