C10700 rods and bars find applications in high-performance electronic and aerospace devices, such as electrical connectors, vacuum parts, circuit boards, and power transmission conductors. The softening resistance of these materials makes them best suited for switches, relays, and coil windings that are subjected to continuous electrical or heat load. These bars also find applications in cryogenic and vacuum environments where ultra-high conductive copper is required. Other applications include waveguides, high-frequency communication equipment, resistance welding electrodes, and electronic thermal management systems where both conductivity and heat resistance are important.
Hastelloy N consists mainly of ~71% nickel, 15–18% molybdenum, 7–8% iron, and minor additions of chromium and silicon. It has a tensile strength of 620–780 MPa and yield strength in the region of 275–400 MPa. The alloy possesses good ductility, having elongation of up to 40%, and resists deformation when subjected to heat and stress. It demonstrates outstanding resistance to molten fluoride salts, oxidation, and radiation damage. Hastelloy N also performs satisfactorily under both oxidizing and reducing atmospheres and is thus appropriate for highly corrosive and nuclear-reactor-related situations.

Yes, Hastelloy N rods can be welded using standard welding techniques, including TIG and MIG welding. Preheat and post-weld heat treatment may be required for optimal results.
Hastelloy N rods are available in various sizes, typically ranging from 1/8" to 3" in diameter. They come with finishes such as cold drawn, bright annealed, or polished, depending on the application.
Hastelloy N bars offer exceptional corrosion resistance, particularly in high-temperature environments. They also exhibit excellent strength, thermal stability, and resistance to oxidation and carburization.
Hastelloy N rods and bars find extensive applications in nuclear reactors, particularly molten salt and thorium-based reactor systems. They also find applications in nuclear fuel reprocessing componentage, radioactive waste storage, and in high-temperature structural components. The alloy is well suited for heat exchangers, pressure vessels, and piping subject to severe molten salt and fluoride environments. Aside from nuclear, it is utilized in specialty chemical processing facilities where there is a need for resistance to halides and oxidizing chemicals. Its excellent weldability and formability make it utilized in the fabrication of intricate parts for harsh industrial applications.
