Aiman Metals, having its roots in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, is a reliable producer and supplier of high-quality metal products, providing state-of-the-art precision engineering solutions that cater to various industrial demands. With its focus on quality and innovation, the company has established itself as a performer that ensures high-performing and reliable materials across industry segments including automotive, aerospace, and general manufacturing. Among its premium products, High-Speed Steel (HSS) M42 Bars are extremely popular for their excellent hardness, cutting, and wear resistance. Developed to perform under challenging conditions, these bars cater to high-performance tooling and machining requirements, providing durability, precision, and superior productivity in industrial uses.
High-Speed Steel M42 Bars are a cobalt-alloyed product that is famous for exceptional hardness and cutting strength. The alloy contains some 1.05% Carbon, 4.0% Molybdenum, 8.0% Cobalt, 2.0% Vanadium, and 1.0% Tungsten, with trace Chromium and Manganese for improved performance. These materials blend to produce exceptional wear resistance and red-hardness, maintaining edge retention in high-heat conditions. In terms of mechanics, M42 bars have a Rockwell hardness of 68–70 HRC with good toughness and thermal softening resistance. Their higher strength, toughness, and capacity for performance under high-stress conditions make them the best choice for heavy-duty machining and high-precision tooling applications.

Yes, High-Speed Steel M42 can be welded, but it requires specialized techniques like preheating, post-weld heat treatment, and using appropriate filler materials to avoid cracking and maintain its properties.
Yes, High Speed Steel M42 bars are recyclable. They can be melted and reused in manufacturing, reducing waste and conserving resources, making them an environmentally friendly material choice.
High-Speed Steel M42 bars should be stored in a dry, cool environment, protected from moisture and corrosion. Ensure they are placed on clean, stable surfaces to prevent damage and maintain quality.
High-Speed Steel M42 Bars find extensive application in manufacturing high-performance cutting tools like end mills, reamers, taps, drills, and saw blades where high hardness and heat resistance are needed. The high cobalt content offers superior red-hardness, enabling tools to retain sharpness and accuracy even at high speeds and temperatures. This makes them very suitable for high-speed machining and intricate metalworking operations. M42 is also used in die and mold making, heavy-duty machining, and tooling for aerospace and automotive applications. Its toughness, edge retention, and wear resistance provide extended tool life, lower downtime, and improved productivity in harsh industrial conditions

We provide products that come with both mill test certificates and third-party test certificates, ensuring the highest standards of quality and compliance.
