Aiman Metals provides Nilo Alloy K Rods and Bars Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, suited for extremely accurate applications where thermal expansion must be controlled. Nilo K (Kovar®) is a low-expansion iron-nickel-cobalt alloy with thermal characteristics specifically adjusted to match borosilicate glass. It is heavily utilized in electronics and instrumentation that must be hermetically sealed and thermally bonded. Aiman Metals supplies bars and rods in diameters to order, heat-treated and machined to exact finishes, to ASTM F15 specifications.
Nilo K is made up of ~29% nickel, ~17% cobalt, remainder iron, with minor amounts of manganese and silicon. It provides tensile strength of approximately 485–550 MPa and a very low, consistent thermal expansion coefficient (~5.2 × 10⁻⁶ /°C across 20–300°C). It is magnetic, readily machined, and has good sealing characteristics when used with glass or ceramic.
