Nitronic 50 has around 20.5–23.5% chromium, 11.5–13.5% nickel, 4–6% manganese, 1.5–3% molybdenum, 0.2–0.4% nitrogen, and minor silicon, carbon, and sulfur content. It provides very good mechanical strength with a standard yield strength of 380 MPa and tensile strength up to 690 MPa. It has exceptional pitting resistance, crevice corrosion resistance, and chloride stress corrosion cracking resistance. Nitronic 50 also has good low-temperature toughness and retains non-magnetic condition even after cold working.
