Nitronic 60 has ~17% chromium, 8–9% manganese, 8% nickel, 4% silicon, and nitrogen. Tensile strength is ~655–690 MPa when annealed and retains strength at elevated temperatures. Galling and wear resistance under high stress is offered by the alloy, and oxidation resistance is good up to 1000°C. Nitronic 60 is not magnetic and has good strength-to-weight ratio under mechanical and thermal stress.
