Nitronic XM-19 rods and bars are high-strength austenitic stainless steel materials utilized in applications that demand excellence in strength and resistance to corrosion. These bars provide double the yield strength of normal 304 and 316 stainless steels with superior toughness and non-magnetic characteristics. Made with accuracy to fulfill critical requirements, Nitronic XM-19 is also made in high-strength and annealed conditions. These bars are particularly prized in marine, oil and gas, chemical processing, and structural uses. Their mechanical strength, corrosion resistance, and fabricability make them a perfect solution for challenging industries under harsh service conditions.
Nitronic XM-19 contains about 20–23% chromium, 11–13% nickel, 4–6% manganese, with traces of molybdenum, nitrogen, and silicon. It is nitrogen-hardened to achieve enhanced tensile and yield strength. In annealed form, it has tensile strength of approximately 690 MPa and yield strength greater than 380 MPa with elongation greater than 35%. In high-strength form, yield strength can be greater than 700 MPa. XM-19 has excellent resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion, and stress corrosion cracking. It does not become non-magnetic even when cold worked and possesses good weldability and machinability.
