What is Permalloy Bar and Rod?

Permalloy Bars and Rods consist of about 80% nickel and 20% iron and create a high-permeability alloy suitable for magnetic uses. The material has tensile strength of approximately 500 MPa, yield strength of about 200 MPa, and elongation in the range 30–40%. Main features are great magnetic permeability, low coercivity, and high saturation magnetization. Having an electrical resistivity of approximately 0.5 µΩ·cm and in-built resistance to corrosion owing to its high nickel composition, Permalloy is stable and strong under varied environmental conditions and hence a good choice for high-performance industrial and electromagnetic applications.
