SMO 254 Hex Bars and Rods are made of super-austenitic stainless steel with 20–22% chromium, 18–20% nickel, 6–7% molybdenum, 0.18% nitrogen, and 1.5% copper, with trace levels of manganese, silicon, and carbon. This composition provides exceptional pitting, crevice corrosion, and stress corrosion cracking resistance, even in severe chloride environments. Mechanically, SMO 254 provides tensile strength of around 650 MPa, yield strength of about 300 MPa, and elongation of 40%, making it have a great balance between strength, ductility, and toughness for rigorous uses in corrosive and high-stress environments.
