Stainless Steel 1.4122, also referred to as X39CrMo17-1, is a martensitic stainless steel alloy. Its typical chemical makeup consists of about 16–18% chromium, 0.8–1.2% molybdenum, and 0.35–0.45% carbon, which contribute to its high hardness and wear resistance. With the right heat treatment, it can reach a tensile strength of 850–1050 MPa and a yield strength of around 600 MPa, while still maintaining good toughness. This steel also shows moderate corrosion resistance, particularly in mildly corrosive environments. Its mechanical and thermal properties make it perfect for components that need strength, edge retention, and dimensional stability under mechanical stress or high temperatures.
