Stainless Steel 17-4PH Forgings are martensitic precipitation-hardening alloys with 16–17.5% chromium, 3–5% nickel, 3–5% copper, and 0.15–0.45% niobium, balance iron and trace elements. These forgings provide top-class mechanical performance, which includes tensile strengths of up to 1310 MPa, yield strengths of close to 1170 MPa, and elongation of 10–15%, depending on heat treatment (H900–H1150). With hardness of up to 40 HRC, they retain toughness with corrosion resistance higher than regular martensitic grades. This strength-to-weight ratio coupled with hardness and versatility makes 17-4PH a very suitable option for high-performance structural and precision engineering applications in corrosive and severe environments.
