Stainless Steel 304H is a high-carbon version of the 304 grade, featuring about 18–20% chromium and 8–11% nickel, along with a higher carbon content (0.04–0.10%) that boosts strength at elevated temperatures. It boasts impressive resistance to oxidation and corrosion, with a tensile strength of around 585 MPa and a yield strength of 240 MPa. This alloy also offers good weldability and formability. The increased carbon content enhances creep resistance, making it perfect for high-temperature applications where mechanical stress and thermal fatigue are common, particularly in pressure vessels and heat exchanger systems.
