Stainless Steel 310S round bars and rods consist of iron, 24–26% chromium, 19–22% nickel, and a maximum of 0.08% carbon content, enhancing weldability and minimizing the possibility of sensitization. It has excellent high-temperature properties and resistance to oxidation, with tensile strength of about 520 MPa and yield strength of around 205 MPa. It has very good mechanical properties even under sustained exposure to temperatures of up to 1100°C (2010°F). 310S is more sought-after than regular 310 because it has a lower carbon content, which provides improved resistance to intergranular corrosion in welded conditions.
