Stainless Steel 310S rods and square bars are essentially iron, 24–26% chromium, 19–22% nickel, and low carbon content (up to 0.08%), which improves weldability and reduces the possibility of carbide precipitation. This alloy possesses high temperature tensile strength and oxidation resistance up to 1100°C (2010°F). Its typical tensile strength is about 520 MPa and yield strength is about 205 MPa. 310S has less carbon content than 310, making it better suited for use in welded structures. It has good mechanical properties when subjected to thermal stress and is best used in high-temperature, corrosive environments.
