Stainless Steel 316L Bars and Rods have a chemically balanced composition of 16–18% chromium, 10–14% nickel, 2–3% molybdenum, and up to 0.03% carbon with trace impurities in manganese, silicon, and phosphorus. The composition increases corrosion resistance with regard to chloride-induced pitting as well as crevice corrosion. Mechanically, the bars and rods have a tensile strength of about 485 MPa, yield strength of 170 MPa, and elongation of up to 40% on 50mm. Low carbon content enhances weldability and reduces carbide precipitation, providing hardness and dependability in aggressive and elevated temperature conditions.
