Aiman Metals, a Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia-based manufacturer and supplier of Stainless Steel 317L round bars and rods, provides high-quality materials designed for application in highly corrosive and demanding conditions. Renowned for its technical competence and customer-centric approach, Aiman Metals provides precision-engineered stainless steel products complying with international standards. Aiman Metals’ Stainless Steel 317L round bars and rods find extensive application in industries like chemical processing, marine, pulp and paper, and pharmaceuticals, where improved corrosion resistance and mechanical soundness are essential for sustained performance and operational effectiveness.
The stainless steel 317L round bars and rods are made up of iron, 18–20% chromium, 11–15% nickel, 3–4% molybdenum, and low carbon content of 0.03% max. The higher molybdenum content will impart substantially greater resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion, and chemical attack in the presence of acids and chloride, and in seawater environments. These bars will normally possess a tensile strength of approximately 515 MPa and a yield strength of about 205 MPa, and possess good ductility and weldability. The low carbon content reduces the danger of intergranular corrosion, so Stainless Steel 317L is a reliable material for welded assemblies and hostile service applications.

Stainless Steel 317L Round Bars and Rods are generally resistant to galvanic corrosion, but they can be susceptible when in direct contact with more anodic metals in corrosive environments. Proper insulation is recommended.
Yes, Stainless Steel 317L Round Bars and Rods can be welded easily. The low carbon content of 317L reduces the risk of carbide precipitation, ensuring excellent weldability and corrosion resistance.
Yes, Stainless Steel 317L Round Bars and Rods can be used for underground applications. Their excellent corrosion resistance to chemicals, moisture, and aggressive environments makes them suitable for underground infrastructure and pipelines.
Stainless Steel 317L round bars and rods find extensive application in industries requiring higher corrosion resistance and structure under tough conditions. They are used for chemical storage tanks, pressure vessels, heat exchangers, and piping systems for chemical and petrochemical plants. They are applied in bleaching systems and digesters in the pulp and paper industry. Their acid resistance also finds their application in marine environments and shore structures. 317L is employed in pharmaceutical equipment and food processing units because of its non-reactive surface and sterilization ease. They ensure strength, reliability, and long-lasting service in hostile environments.
