Aiman Metals Stainless Steel 317L square bars and rods consist of iron, 18–20% chromium, 11–15% nickel, 3–4% molybdenum, and a maximum of 0.03% carbon. The increased molybdenum improves resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion, and chemical attack in acid conditions. These bars possess very good mechanical properties with a tensile strength of around 515 MPa and yield strength of around 205 MPa along with satisfactory elongation and resistance to impact. The weldability is enhanced and intergranular corrosion risk decreased by the low carbon content. Stainless Steel 317L provides the optimum combination of formability, corrosion resistance, and strength for severe applications.
