Stainless Steel 321 Rods and Bars have 17–19% chromium, 9–12% nickel, and up to 2% manganese, and titanium is added at a minimum of five times the content of carbon for stabilization against carbide precipitation. Having a carbon content not exceeding 0.08%, the alloy possesses high weldability, resistance to oxidation, and resistance to structure stability at elevated temperatures. Mechanical properties are tensile strength of about 515 MPa, yield strength of 205 MPa, elongation of 40%, and hardness of 95 HRB. This blend of elements and characteristics guarantees superb performance in continuous and intermittent high-temperature service.
