Stainless Steel 321 Square Bars and Rods are made up of 17–19% Chromium, 9–12% Nickel, and are stabilized with Titanium, typically in amounts at least five times the carbon content. The carbon content is kept to a maximum of 0.08% to minimize carbide precipitation. This alloy boasts excellent oxidation resistance and thermal stability at temperatures reaching up to 870°C (1600°F). Its mechanical properties include a tensile strength of around 515 MPa, yield strength of 205 MPa, and an elongation of 40%. These characteristics make SS 321 perfect for applications that require prolonged exposure to heat and stress without compromising strength.
