When it comes to composition and mechanical properties, the Stainless Steel 410 Bar/Rod is a martensitic stainless steel that includes Chromium (11.5–13.5%), Carbon (0.08–0.15%), Manganese (1.0% max), Silicon (1.0% max), along with trace elements like Phosphorus and Sulfur. This combination gives it remarkable hardness and wear resistance, especially after heat treatment. The material boasts a tensile strength ranging from 480 to 700 MPa, a yield strength of 270 MPa, and an elongation of 20%. With a Brinell hardness of about 207, 410 stainless steel is magnetic and showcases excellent mechanical properties, particularly in mildly corrosive settings.
