Stainless Steel 416 Flat Bar is a free-machining martensitic stainless steel, primarily made up of Chromium (12-14%), Carbon (0.15% max), Manganese (1.25% max), Sulfur (0.15% min), and Silicon (1.00% max). Its high sulfur content gives it excellent machinability. On the mechanical side, it boasts a tensile strength of 550-760 MPa, a yield strength of 275 MPa, and an elongation of 20%. With a Brinell hardness of 207, it’s perfect for applications that require moderate corrosion resistance and solid mechanical strength, especially when hardened and tempered.
