Stainless Steel 416 Hex Bar is a free-machining martensitic stainless steel that contains around 12–14% chromium, up to 0.15% carbon, and added sulfur to enhance machinability. It boasts excellent machinability, moderate corrosion resistance, and solid mechanical strength. SS 416 typically has a tensile strength ranging from 550–760 MPa, a yield strength of about 275 MPa, and a Brinell hardness of around 207 HB in its annealed state. This material is magnetic and responds well to heat treatment, which boosts its hardness and strength. Its well-rounded properties make it perfect for machining-intensive applications that require tight dimensional tolerances.
