Stainless Steel 431 Hex Bar is a robust, martensitic stainless steel alloy that contains 15–17% chromium and 1.2–2.0% nickel, with a low carbon content of about 0.20%. It can be heat-treated and offers impressive tensile strength (850–1000 MPa) and yield strength (~600 MPa), along with good resistance to impact and fatigue. This alloy provides moderate corrosion resistance, particularly in marine and mildly corrosive settings. Stainless Steel 431 retains excellent toughness even after heat treatment, making it suitable for applications that demand both mechanical strength and corrosion protection, especially where hexagonal cross-sections are needed for a secure fit or torque transfer.
