Stainless Steel 446 Bars and Rods generally consist of 23–27% chromium, with a low carbon content (maximum 0.20%) and trace amounts of manganese, silicon, sulfur, and phosphorus. This unique blend ensures outstanding resistance to oxidation, sulfidation, and scaling at elevated temperatures. The mechanical properties include a tensile strength of about 485 MPa, yield strength around 275 MPa, elongation of roughly 20%, and Brinell hardness reaching up to 217. Being ferritic, it remains magnetic under all conditions and boasts good thermal conductivity with minimal thermal expansion. The alloy retains its structural integrity even in extreme heat cycles and corrosive industrial environments.
