Stainless Steel XM19, also referred to as Nitronic® 50, is a nitrogen-strengthened austenitic stainless steel that contains about 20–23.5% chromium, 11–13.5% nickel, 4–6% manganese, along with trace amounts of molybdenum and nitrogen. XM19 delivers double the yield strength compared to 304/316 stainless steels, typically showcasing a tensile strength ranging from 690 to 1000 MPa and a yield strength between 380 and 690 MPa. It retains excellent toughness, even in sub-zero temperatures, and offers remarkable resistance to corrosion, pitting, and stress corrosion cracking. Additionally, XM19 forgings are non-magnetic when annealed and are highly weldable.
