Titanium Grade 5 (Ti-6Al-4V) forgings consist of about 90% titanium, 6% aluminum, and 4% vanadium. This alloy boasts an impressive blend of strength, corrosion resistance, and lightweight properties. It has a tensile strength of roughly 895 MPa, a yield strength of 828 MPa, and an elongation of around 10%. Even at higher temperatures, this alloy retains its strength and offers excellent weldability and fatigue resistance. These mechanical characteristics make Titanium Gr 5 one of the most popular titanium alloys for high-performance applications that demand strength and durability.
