Tool and Die Steel S7 Bars are air-hardening, shock-resistant steels featuring a typical composition of carbon (0.45–0.55%), chromium (3.00–3.50%), molybdenum (1.30–1.80%), and vanadium (0.20–0.30%). Renowned for their remarkable toughness, S7 bars achieve a hardness range of 54–56 HRC after heat treatment. This steel offers outstanding impact resistance, moderate wear resistance, and excellent dimensional stability. With a tensile strength that surpasses 1500 MPa, it’s perfect for heavy-duty tools. S7 steel also performs exceptionally well under both cryogenic and elevated temperatures, ensuring durability in even the most extreme working conditions.

Tool and Die Steel S7 Bars find extensive use in industries that demand high-impact resistance and toughness. They are commonly used for chisels, punches, shear blades, riveting tools, and machine dies that face sudden loads or shocks. In the aerospace and automotive fields, S7 steel is essential for tooling components that must endure extreme operating conditions. Its ability to resist softening at high temperatures also makes it ideal for plastic molding dies and precision forming tools. The toughness and versatility of S7 steel make it a go-to choice for both hot and cold work applications where reliability is key.
